In this lesson we learned many small tips for shooting good video like the rule of thirds, B-Roll, and more. The rule of thirds says that the subject of a shot should not be placed in the center of the shot, but it should be in an outer third of the screen. Also, B-Roll is natural video that is overlaid on audio of an interview
In The Video Storytelling section of the course I am taking, we have learned about many aspects of how to tell your story with different types of video, angles, and shots. One aspect of visual storytelling is action/reaction. This differs if the shot is of what the story is showing/ the subject is doing, or how the people/environment is reacting. The main rule is that you have more reaction shots then action. you also want to have a large variety of shots and angles, changing to a new shot every 5 seconds or so to really show the entire area.
The I Am video was fun to make. I used iMovie trailer to put together a collection of pictures and text to tell you a little about me. One thing I didn't like about imovie trailers was that it did not allow me to add that many pictures. I had a lot more pictures that I was intending to put in. That however did not make too much of a difference and overall the I Am project was fun to make and iMovie trailer was easy and good to use.
